CBDuck, named in honor of our rescue duck sanctuary, Sanctuary at SHO, is our line of regenerative-vegan, full-spectrum infused CBD oils made and grown from hemp and (sometimes) combined with other medicinal crops on our farm. Why our CBD oils are different.

1 We infuse both heated hemp flowers into a carrier oil like other producers do, (heat transforms CBDA into CBD), but also infuse raw hemp flowers which retains CBDA and other vital raw plant cannabinoids and terpenes that are used for healing whole-body issues like fibromyalgia and cancer. Read more about these truly full-spectrum benefits—you won’t find them most CBD oils on the market.
2 Plants were grown with no slaughterhouse animal by-products or fish emulsions. We use organic, red worm-rich compost from our rescue duck sanctuary.
3 Our plants were grown without tillage and in relationship to vital pollinator and agroforestry habitat.
4 We use simple, organic coconut oil to make the CBD, vital cannabinoids, and terpenes bioavailable. This oil contains multiple chain triglycerides (MCTs) that enable the human body to properly absorb vital cannabinoids and CBD. Our simple formulation can be taken internally or applied externally. We also use organic ethanol in our tinctures.

How to take our CBD oil: If taking internally, start with 1 ml of oil under your tongue (using the 1ml spoon supplied), holding it as long as possible, 1x in the morning and 1x in the evening. The idea is to start with as low a dose as possible, and increase as needed after 3 days. Everyone’s needs are different, but it’s always most effective to start low and build gradually. If using to treat specific areas of pain on your body, rub the area with a small amount of oil, and re-apply every 2-4 hours for targeted pain relief. It may take time to notice results.

How to take our tincture. Start with 1/2 ml in a small amount of water, held under the tongue. Wait 30 minutes and note any effects. If desired, take another 1/2 ml and wait 30 minutes again. As with CBD oil, you want to use the smallest possible dose. If you are managing pain, you may wish to take the tincture 2-3 times per day, or in 2-3 hour increments. Each person’s needs are different. Alcohol tinctures are absorbed more quickly and more thoroughly than are oil tinctures. You may wish to consume a form of fat when you take your tincture—particularly a small amount of coconut oil—for those elements of CBD that are fat-soluable.

We’re always searching for ways to get the most out of our regenerative hemp , and are excited to offer this combination of SHO-grown plants. How to retain and maximize the benefits of the whole-plant in both its raw and processed form?

We present a concentrated, cold alcohol extraction of our best farm-grown hemp flowers to preserve as many of the synergistic terpenes as possible, combined with pine and concentrated Japanese knotweed root tincture--all grown at SHO. The goal was to keep some raw and some heated/decarboxylated (heat transforms CBDA into CBD, but CBDA has benefits too, reputedly for fibromyalgia) in one tincture.

Japanese knotweed is simply an amazing ally that assists with the perfusion of any substance into muscles and fascia, and also crosses the blood-brain barrier due to its high concentration of resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant. Here's what Stephen Buhner says about it in his book "Healing Lyme": Knotweed “IS A DRUG AND HERB SYNERGIST, FACILITATING THE MOVEMENT OF OTHER HERBS AND DRUGS INTO THESE HARD-TO-REACH PLACES WHEN TAKEN WITH THEM."

Each quart of oil is made with 4#s of seaberries, and each jar contains the fat-soluble components from .25-.50 #s of berries. The whole fruit is first macerated to release the valuable oils in its pulp and seed, then it is infused into organic coconut and a small amount of organic sunflower oil to extract seaberry’s rich omega 3, 6, 7, & 9 oils , vitamin E, vitamin A, and valuable carotenoids. Seaberry leaf (sea buckthorn, hippophae rhamnoides) is rich in minerals and gentle tannins. We harvest the fresh leaves from our permaculture orchard, dry them, and grind them to slowly steep into the coconut oil at 163 degrees F for 8 hours. We then infuse hemp flowers into this oil to multiply the benefits of taking our farm-grown CBD. Can also be used topically.
